Dodgers News and Rumors: Matt Kemp Activated, Can Pinch-Hit Today
After being sidelined since late July with a severely sprained ankle, Matt Kemp was activated before tonight’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but won’t be in the starting lineup.
According to David Vassegh of AM 570 Radio, Kemp will be available to pinch hit tonight:

The last time Kemp played for the Dodgers was on July 21 in a win against the Washington Nationals, but he suffered an ankle sprain as he was sliding into home plate. Kemp’s recovery from the ankle injury was delayed after he experienced tightness in his right hamstring while he was trying to rehab his ankle at Camelback Ranch.
The Dodgers will welcome Kemp back with open arms as Andre Ethier, Carl Crawford and Yasiel Puig are all battling injuries. A healthy Kemp could be just what they need to build some momentum heading into the playoffs. Despite their incredible stretch, that saw them go 54-13, the Dodgers offense has been flat, something Kemp could fix.
