Dodgers News And Rumors: Ned Colletti Open To Trading For David Price
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ starting pitching has been the backbone of their team’s success so far this season. However, the backend of the rotation has succumbed to recent struggles by way of Dan Haren and an injured Josh Beckett.
Heath concerns with Josh Beckett and Hanley Ramirez could influence the Dodgers into making a move before the trade deadline if the right situation presents itself.
David Price and Cole Hamels are a few names that have been linked to the Dodgers. General manager Ned Colletti previously stated it was unlikely the Dodgers would acquire either of the left-handers.
However, Colletti amended his comments a bit by saying the team would pursue a deal if the right opportunity presented itself. Trading for Price would likely require the Dodgers to trade away elite prospects, which manager Don Mattingly stated he’s against.

Prospects are merely that… prospects. Doesn’t mean they are going to translate to stars once they reach the major leagues. David Price is an established major league star and, as such, his price is going to be high. But, in my humble opinion, it’s one that is worth meeting.
