Dodgers News And Rumors: SportsNet LA Hires Two, Ethier To Orioles?
After the hiring of Nomar Garciaparra last week, the Dodgers’ new network, SportsNet LA, hired Orel Hershiser and Alanna Rizzo for the upcoming 2014 season. Hershisher, the former Dodger pitcher, will be the team’s television broadcaster after leaving ESPN. Rizzo is leaving MLB Network to join the Dodgers pre-game and post-game shows.
The Dodgers had openings after Steve Lyons and Eric Collins were let go at the end of the 2013 season. Vin Scully returns for his 65th year in the booth, while Charley Steiner and Rick Monday also return.
While addressing their needs, Baltimore Orioles General Manager Dan Duquette said that they are in the market for a left-handed outfielder, specifically Andre Ethier and Raul Ibañez. Ethier has been involved in many rumors this winter, along with fellow outfielder Matt Kemp.
The Dodgers are expected to deal one of their four outfielders this off-season and Ethier could be the odd man out.
