Dodgers News: Blake Treinen to Take a Big Step Towards Return Tomorrow
The Dodgers really need their arms to get healthy soon. As we move through the regular season, getting pitchers back down the stretch will be huge for the postseason hopes. And one guy they could really use back is Blake Treinen.
Earlier this week, Dave Roberts seemed to indicate that Treinen was still a ways off from facing live hitters. That presumably meant that he had experienced some sort of setback or that he was progressing slower than the Dodgers had hoped. But there is good news coming for that bullpen today.
Doc said before their game against the Rockies that Treinen would face hitters on Friday afternoon. That still puts his return date around sometime in August though, so he is still technically a ways off from a return to the Dodgers bullpen.
Blake Treinen is scheduled to face hitters tomorrow in LA. Will be his first time against live hitting since getting hurt. Chris Taylor will be one of the hitters
Treinen still isn’t expected back for at least three weeks. Late August remains rough return date

Other Dodgers News
The Dodgers are apparently checking in on a bunch of guys around the league. They were one of the teams looking into Andrew Benintendi before he was dealt to the New York Yankees this week. Adding him into the mix would have been very interesting, given his ability to hit for contact at a ridiculous rate.

Couldn’t be any better news. Treinen, along with Buehler, Rios and others making their way back just means Dodgers get stronger down the stretch.
