The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting to get key players back from injury at a crucial time in the season. While ace Clayton Kershaw (back) remains on the disabled list, pitchers Brandon McCarthy (Tommy John surgery) and Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) returned.
Ryu will get his first start since the 2014 playoffs on Thursday in the series opener vs. the San Diego Padres.

Prior to the series finale vs. the Baltimore Orioles, manager Dave Roberts spoke about the return of Brett Anderson, Andre Ethier and Clayton Kershaw.

Dave Roberts hopes Andre Ethier will be back by Aug. 2. Brett Anderson could be ready by the middle of August.

After a strong debut, McCarthy will receive his second start on Saturday facing off against Padres’ Luis Perdomo.

In his first start back, McCarthy allowed two hits and struck out eight batters in five shutout innings vs. the Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers will wrap up their home stand on Sunday before the start of the All-Star break. Their next road trip is July 15th vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks.
