Dodgers News: Chris Taylor IL Decision Should Be Made By Wednesday

The Dodgers are going to need all hands on deck as the season comes to a close in a few shorts weeks. Still chasing the Giants by 2.5 games in the National League West, it’s going to take everything they’ve got to get back to the top and win their 9th consecutive division title.

But they could be doing it without a big piece for at least part of the last 2 weeks of the season. Chris Taylor has not played since Friday night against the Padres as he continues to battle through a neck issue. CT was once again out of the Dodgers lineup on Tuesday night against Arizona.

Dave Roberts had said on Monday before the game that they would need to make a decision on him soon. That means the Dodgers could be placing Taylor on the injured list by Wednesday, which Doc said would need to be the day to decide.

Doc also noted that the neck issue could be part of the reason Taylor has struggled in recent weeks. Since the start of August, Taylor went 23-for-123 for a .186 average and the strikeouts have shot up. The Dodgers have gone to him often even with the struggles though since Taylor offers the flexibility.

If Taylor does need to hit the injured list, that would likely mean that Gavin Lux continues to get outfield starts. It also means that Cody Bellinger would continue to get the starts in center field even with his struggles.
