Dodgers News: Clayton Kershaw Makes Promise to Rams’ Stafford

As the Dodgers world very well knows, long-time ace Clayton Kershaw and Rams quarterback Matt Stafford are the best friends in the whole wide world. Embellishment aside, the two did grow up playing sports together in Texas where the pitcher was famously the center for the Pro Bowl QB in high school.

Now, Stafford has led the LA Rams to the upcoming Super Bowl where plenty of stars are expected to be in attendance at SoFi Stadium. Among those is apparently Clayton Kershaw. On Thursday, Stafford shared the news.

I talked to Clayton the other day. He’s excited for me, which I appreciate. You know, we didn’t get too deep into what it’s like, what to expect — his job is so much different than mine. But he’s excited. He said he’s going to try to be there with a buddy of his that we both grew up with.

Of course, Kershaw is currently a free agent and, with the lockout having no end in sight, it could be a while before we learn if the future Hall of Famer will be donning Dodger blue in 2022.

Notably, Dodgers star Mookie Betts has been seen frequently at SoFi this NFL postseason, sporting a number 50 jersey in the suites with friends.

Super Bowl LVI airs on NBC Sunday, February 13.
