Dodgers News: Cody Bellinger Adds More Offensive Records

Cody Bellinger has been amazing and that is an understatement. According to Baseball Reference, Belli has had the best start to a season for any Dodger since Duke Snider in terms of counting statistics.

Bellinger is up to 42 runs and 44 RBI and it is just May 20. Outside of that, Belli has crushed 17 homers on the way to an absurd .405/.481/.791 slash line and 233 wRC+.

Duke Snider is quite the name to be in the same conversation as and it is a complete testament to Cody Bellinger for putting himself in said conversation. Snider is the Dodgers all-time home run leader with 389 round-trippers and is a Hall of Famer. In a Dodger uniform from 1947-1962, the Duke of Flatbush carried a .300/.384/.553 slash line. Cody Bellinger’s career line of .283/.367/.558 is not far removed from that.

It sure seems as if Cody Bellinger is well on his way to becoming a Dodgers all-time great like Duke Snider. Keep it up, Cody!

Also, Chase Utley did absolutely nothing wrong.
