Dodgers News: Corey Seager, Yimi Garcia Named To Fall Stars Game

While the Los Angeles Dodgers wait for free agency to start, top prospects Corey Seager and Yimi Garcia are both participating in the Arizona Fall League in Arizona.

Playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs, Seager and Garcia have turned heads as Garcia could find his way in the big leagues at some point this season while Seager still needs more seasoning.

With their performances this winter both have been named to the Arizona Fall Stars Game according to the Dodgers Twitter account:

The game will be played on November 2 and will also be televised on the MLB Network as Dodger fans will get a glimpse into the future. Seager made the jump from Low A to High A this season while Garcia was with Double A Chattanooga.

Seager has been mentioned in a possible trade for Rays ace David Price, but many project him as a possible candidate to start at third base in the 2015 season. During his time in the AZ Fall League, Seager is hitting .162, but was still selected as he’s shown impressive skills in the field and intrigued scouts watching him.

Meanwhile, Garcia hasn’t allowed a run in 6.2 innings and has a really live arm as he lives in the low 90’s with his fastball, but has pitched well enough to rise through the Dodgers system.

New ownership has placed a premium on building the farm system to where it used to be as Seager and Garcia are testaments to their development system.
