Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Hints at Playoff Rotation For NLDS

Dave Roberts revealed the Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation for the NLDS will feature Jack Flaherty, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, and Landon Knack.

The order of the rotation hasn’t been confirmed, but the Dodgers will utilize a trade deadline addition, an offseason target, a seventh-year veteran, and a rookie for the NLDS.

At the beginning of the season, nobody would’ve believed that the Los Angeles rotation would look the way it does. But nobody could’ve predicted the numerous injuries the Dodgers rotation has endured this season.

Where is Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow?

Glasnow sustained a season-ending elbow sprain that will keep him off the mound in October.

When Glasnow was initially placed on the 15-day injured list, the move seemed like the Dodgers were merely taking a cautious approach with their ace. As the season progressed, his stint on the injured list turned into a permanent stay.

The Dodgers always knew he was a high-risk, high-reward player. The risk proved to be in vain, at least for the most important point of the season: the playoffs.

Where is veteran southpaw Clayton Kershaw?

Kershaw is dealing with a bone spur in his big left toe. His unique injury has kept him from pitching since Aug. 30.

Kershaw won’t be an option for at least a few weeks but don’t give up hope about the Dodgers icon returning to the mound this year if the team makes a deep playoff run.

Where is Bobby Miller?

Miller endured a sophomore slump on the hill this season. The hard-throwing righty had an underwhelming year after his breakout rookie season.

It was evident Miller wouldn’t be the reliable starter the Dodgers had hoped he would be. As a result, the Dodgers optioned the 25-year-old to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Where is reliable rookie Gavin Stone?

After being the one constant in a rotation that was ever-changing this season, Stone was placed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. Stone solidified himself as one of the best arms in the Dodgers rotation, but a return for the rookie is a long shot.

Where is Tony Gonsolin?

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Gonsolin won’t be an option in the NLDS, but he will continue throwing.

The club has stared in the face of adversity all season long, yet they still managed to win the division. The Dodgers are hopeful this unique rotation can carry them through October.
