Dodgers News: Dodgers to Promote Wilmer Font
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be promoting starting pitcher Wilmer Font to the big league roster once the rosters expand tomorrow.
Font has been the ace of the Oklahoma City pitching staff for all of the 2017 season. It was just announced today that Font was named the PCL Pitcher of the Year. He collected the mid-season All-Star accolade as well, showing he has been consistently good for his entire season.

He leads the PCL in earned run average (3.42), strikeouts (178), WHIP (1.11) and batting average against (.222).
This Major League call up will not be the first of Wilmer Font’s career. He appeared in both the 2012 and 2013 season for the Texas Rangers. He did however only log in 3.1 total innings. He should surpass that as a member of the Dodgers bullpen this month. There will be some serious bullpen competition and Font, while being a long shot, will get a genuine opportunity to prove himself.
