Dodgers News: Entire Team Attended Sunday’s Optional Workout, Confirms Max Muncy

The Los Angeles Dodgers held an optional workout on Sunday in between Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium.

After getting blown out in Game 1 of the NLDS, it would have been easy for the Dodgers to roll over, and it would have made sense for some of the players to want to get away from baseball for a day. But not this team.

While the workout was considered optional, Dodgers infielder Max Muncy confirmed that everyone on the team was there.

“It was an optional thing,” Muncy said to reporters on Monday, “and yet everyone was here.”

The Dodgers clearly were disappointed in themselves for losing in embarrassing fashion in Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday, and knew they needed to regroup for Game 2. But more importantly, they knew they needed to regroup as a team.

So, the entire team showed up to Sunday’s optional workout, and it’s safe to assume they all got back on track together, and got on the same page ahead of Monday’s must-win game.

Yes, even Clayton Kershaw was there fresh off the worst start in his entire career, working to improve for his potential Game 4 start.

Not every team would have this mindset to come into work the next day and try to regroup. But this Dodgers team is special. They know what it takes to win the World Series, and they know they need to be much, much better in every facet of the game to accomplish their goals.

The team will have their chance to right some initial wrongs on Monday night for Game 2 of the NLDS with rookie phenom Bobby Miller on the mound. To read more that game and why the Dodgers should have all the confidence in the world in Miller, you can click here.

Let’s hope this team comes out with a much greater sense of urgency following Sunday’s workout.
