Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Reveals Big Changes Prior to Break Out Game
While the Dodgers lost on Monday night, there were some bright spots we can enjoy. Max Muncy destroyed a baseball for his team-leading 7th home run of the year. Justin Bruihl made his 2023 debut and tossed a scoreless inning — a rarity for the LA bullpen these days. And Freddie Freeman broke out in a big way with two homers and 3 RBI.
It feels like Freddie took his 4 strikeout game one day prior to heart. After that game, he said he wouldn’t be changing anything or doing anything different with his work or approach. He was still hitting .300, albeit an empty .300 in his eyes. However, after Monday night’s game he revealed he did change a couple things.
“I’m sure somebody’s going to ask me what I did differently. I didn’t do anything differently baseball-wise. But I trimmed my beard and I wore cologne. That’s about all I did differently today.”
Can we get the whole team to do that? Or maybe the bullpen and see what happens?
Jokes aside, the Dodgers aren’t quite where they hoped to be after 17 games. Freeman avoided the talk about frustrations mounting in the clubhouse, but something can be felt in his answers.
“We would love to be 17-0 but we haven’t got off to the start we wanted. But what is talking about it going to do? We gotta go out there and play better and start winning games.”
One final note about Freddie’s night on Monday, it was his first multi-homer game as a Dodger.
