Dodgers News: Gavin Lux Visits Team in LA, is ‘Already Losing His Mind’
For the first time since undergoing season ending surgery on his right knee, Gavin Lux visited his teammates while the Dodgers returned to LA. The shortstop spoke with reporters about the struggles of the last few weeks on crutches.
It isn’t the first time Lux has been sidelined with an injury. But it is the first that he’ll be missing the season because of one. So, he’s turning to experts on the subject in the home clubhouse for advice.
“I’ve already talked to a lot of guys who have been banged up — Dustin May, Walker [Buehler] — just picking their brains, like how do you get through this?” Lux said. “I’m already losing my mind a bit. They said I gotta figure out something to occupy my time. A hobby. Mine is video games. That’s how I’ll be spending my next 10 months.”

2023 was set to be the season of Gavin Lux. The Dodgers let Trea Turner sign elsewhere to open the door for the 25-year-old to finally play his true position at the big league level. Now he’ll do what he can to not only recover from surgery but also stay close to the team over the first few months of his physical therapy. He plans on attending all home games over the first two months of the season before, according to the LA Times, heading out to Arizona as his workouts intensify.
The worst part for Lux in all of this… it hasn’t even been one month since his surgery. Keep the sanity, Gavin!
