Dodgers News: Hanley Ramirez Congratulates Clayton Kershaw
At Dodger Stadium this morning the Los Angeles Dodgers formally announced the record-breaking contract extension for ace Clayton Kershaw. While Kershaw wasn’t in attendance, GM Ned Colletti and president Stan Kasten discussed how the deal came to fruition while expressing excitement for the franchise as a whole.
Since the deal was reported two days ago, former and current Dodgers players have taken to Twitter and the radio waves to offer their congratulations to the 25-year-old ace. Today, shortstop Hanley Ramirez was the latest to chime in via Twitter, wondering if there was any money left over for his extension (jokingly, of course).
The 29-year-old Ramirez hinted at a possible contract extension earlier this off-season, but his agent confirmed that talks weren’t that close.
Here’s what Hanley had to say on Twitter this morning:
Congratulations @ClaytonKersh22 THE BEST IN THE GAME! Well earned and deserved. I hope you left me a little bit haha pic.twitter.com/zWgJGaoMa8
