Dodgers News: Hyun-Jin Ryu to DL, McCarthy to Start Saturday
Before Tuesday’s game, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that the team had placed Hyun-Jin Ryu on the 10-day disabled list.
Recalled in his place was long reliever, Ross Stripling.
Today, #Dodgers recalled Ross Stripling from OKC and placed Hyun-Jin Ryu on the 10-day DL (retroactive to 6/29) with a left foot contusion.

He went on the disabled list with a left foot contusion that he suffered in his last start when a ball was hit back at him and bounced off of his foot.
Apparently there is no structural damage but Ryu is still in pain so the team chose to skip his spot in the rotation.
Due to him going on the disabled list retroactive to June 29th, he is eligible to come off of the disabled list on the 9th of July. Meaning that if his foot feels better, he will only be missing one start.
Brandon McCarthy will be activated off of the disabled list and start on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. He is currently on the 10-day disabled list and will be activated just before his start.

McCarthy had been lights out for the Dodgers until his last start, just before he was placed on the disabled list.
