Dodgers News: Insider Calls LA the ‘perfect team’ in Latest Power Rankings

The Dodgers had a successful week between the lines last week. LA started things off with a rare four-game sweep of the Giants and San Francisco, then topped it off with a triumphant three-game sweep of the re-made San Diego Padres. It was a perfect week for the Dodgers and analysts took note.

In their latest power rankings, The Athletic’s James Fegan and Nick Groke deemed the Dodgers “the perfect team”.

“The perfect team. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Trea Turner. Tony Gonsolin and Tyler Anderson pitching like they’re competing against each other for a Cy Young. The Dodgers aren’t even trying that hard right now. They’re in a third gear.”

The MLB experts used the Dodgers 7-0 record last week as proof in the pudding for why team president Andrew Friedman didn’t pull the trigger on a Juan Soto trade, or any other blockbuster deal.

“There was no reason to blow the lid off at the trade deadline. All Andrew Friedman needed to do was feign some half-interest in Juan Soto and watch A.J. Preller freak out. Did you notice Betts hasn’t played second base since the trade deadline?”

Fegan and Groke were quick to point out that the Dodgers have lost back-to-back games just twice in the past two months and the cadre of arms like Dustin May, Clayton Kershaw, Brusdar Graterol, Walker Buehler, and Yency Almonte who are all expected to return before the end of the season.

The Dodgers look to keep up their winning ways tonight when they face the Minnesota Twins at Dodger Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7:10PM PT. Julio Urías gets the start for LA.

  1. Perfect team today, a team full of troubles and injuries six weeks ago. They pay no mind to writers and fans up and down opinions and prepare for today’s game. They are quietly confident in themselves, teammates, and the organization. We just need to enjoy the show
