In an otherwise busy and productive week for the Dodgers, there were a few big headlines that show no team is invincible. Not even the best team in baseball.
First up, word got out early that infielder Zach McKinstry would be joining the team on the road in San Diego where he would potentially make his MLB debut. Then the mood quickly changed to somber when we learned that he would be taking the roster spot of Joc Pederson who was leaving the team with a personal issue.
The next day, Dave Robert provided a little more clarity on when he could potentially return.
Sending all of our love to the Pederson family, whatever they are going through.
In other roster-related news, the club made a free agent signing with a look to the future.
Also the week, the runoff of the weekend of trolling focused toward the visiting cheating Astros continued to bring some levity to a tough week of headlines.
The club took another hit late in the week when Caleb Ferguson left a game early with an apparent injury…
…where the worst fears were confirmed. The third-year lefty would have to undergo the knife for a season-ending surgery.
