Dodgers News: Josh Sborz to IL, Matt Beaty Recalled

The Dodgers have placed relief pitcher Josh Sborz on the Injured List with lower back soreness and have recalled infielder/outfielder Matt Beaty to take his place.

Sborz, who made his MLB debut on Thursday night, seeing the one appearance with the Dodgers where he allowed 3 earned runs after throwing a scoreless eighth inning against the Giants.

He was brought up as an extra arm for the Dodgers’ planned bullpen game. Moreover, with the bullpen having been pressed into action on Wednesday after Rich Hill pitched only 1 inning before removing himself from the game with a forearm strain.

Beaty, originally the move to get Sborz to the active roster, holds a .286 batting average and 88 wRC+ so far this season in 23 games for Los Angeles.
