Dodgers News: Justin Turner to Be Held Out of the Lineup for Few Days

It wasn’t all sunshine and flowers for the Dodgers as they amassed 107 wins against the Padres on Tuesday. Justin Turner slid into second base and injured an already lingering shin bruise that will likely keep him out for the next few days, said Dave Roberts

The initial shin injury came off an errant pitch in game one of the doubleheader against the Diamondbacks on September 20.

Turner has struggled for the greater part of the season but has since upped his game in the month of September. Despite only having 13 home runs on the season, RedTurn2 ends September with four home runs on a .342 batting average.

Roberts spoke to the media and assessed the situation for Turner moving forward.

“There’s been some swelling in his left leg. So I think that I can see him being down for the next couple of days, to be quite honest, to kind of get that swelling out.”

With the remainder of the regular season winding down and the Dodgers reaching their final hurdle of breaking the franchise record for wins, chances are Roberts becomes more conservative and rests his starters more often.

It’s a welcome sign for many Dodgers fans as all eyes remain set on the postseason as it has been all year long. With October right around the corner, focus is set on the final prize everyone has been waiting for, the World Series championship.

  1. His age is catching up to him. He’s probably going to retire after the season is over.
