Dodgers News: Kenta Maeda Moved to the Bullpen

In an interview on Wednesday, Dodger’s Manager Dave Roberts announced that Kenta Maeda will be moved to the bullpen for the return of Alex Wood.

Alex Wood, who has held down the Ace-worthy performing standards alongside Clayton Kershaw, was sidelined back at the end of May. With his return, the Dodgers will have an excess of starting pitching.

With the slow start of Kenta Maeda, he will be moved to the bullpen effective immediately.  Maeda is 4-3 with a 5.16 ERA. That comes out to be the worst amongst Dodgers starters this year. Roberts also added that Maeda was very accepting and open to the decision. The Dodgers are surely looking forward to Kenta Maeda working out the kinks from the ‘pen.

As of right now, the Dodgers rotation looks like it will be Kershaw, Hill, Wood, Ryu, and McCarthy. This raises questions about when the young phenom Julio Urias will get another try at the big show.
