Dodgers News: Kyle Garlick Recalled, Joe Kelly Placed on Bereavement List

The Dodgers have recalled right-handed outfielder Kyle Garlick from Triple-A Oklahoma City this morning and have placed reliever Joe Kelly on the bereavement list.

Garlick has seen only one plate appearance for the Dodgers this season in his debut tour with the team. He should figure into the mix for at-bats against southpaws in what should be a fairly short stay in the majors, unless he sets the world on fire.

Kelly, who has had his struggles this season well-documented, will get some time on the bereavement list. We hope everything sorts itself out for Joe and offer our condolences to his family for whomever they have lost.

Kelly, signed this off-season, has a 7.79 ERA this season in 17 1/3 innings.

Also, Chase Utley did absolutely nothing wrong.

  1. I would be willing to bet Garlick would rather be on a team where he might get more opportunities in MLB instead of being pigeon holed facing only LHP , thereby being turned into a marginal only player. And it will be a very short stay because he won’t get much looks up here as it is.
