Dodgers News: LA Makes Slew of Roster Moves Including Betts, Heaney and More
Ahead of Sunday’s rubber match against the Guardians, the Dodgers announced several key roster moves. First, let’s hit the big one.
Mookie Betts was officially placed on the Injured List with a right rib fracture.
In a corresponding move, the club activated left-handed pitcher Andrew Heaney to start today’s game. Heaney had been on the IL since mid-April while dealing with shoulder inflammation.
In addition to the Heaney activation, the Dodgers optioned right-handed reliever Reyes Moronta to Triple-A Oklahoma City and recalled utility man Zach McKinstry. Moronta has made 8 appearances for the big club, allowing 2 earned runs over 9 innings of work. In limited time, McKinstry has one hit — a home run — in 5 at-bats with LA. This will be his fourth stint at the big league level this season.
The Dodgers play the Guardians at Dodger Stadium one more time before both teams head out on the road. First pitch is set for 1:10 PM.
