Dodgers News: LA On Pace For 2 All-Star Game Starters

As of right now, things are looking very good for the Dodgers this summer. With the All-Star Game being hosted in Los Angeles after a very long wait, getting guys into the starting lineup would be very cool. And fans in Los Angeles are making sure that happens with early voting.

The latest update on All-Star Game voting has two different Dodgers set to be starters for the National League. The top vote-getter in the first phase of voting will automatically be the starter at their position, and we have a leader.

Mookie Betts is the early fan favorite with phase one set to end on June 30, 2022 at 1:59 pm eastern time.

Mookie Betts

Betts has accrued over 1.4 million votes in the first phase of voting. He leads the NL by a relatively close margin with Braves outfielder Ronal Acuna Jr coming in at just under 1.4 million votes. Betts is currently on the injured list with a cracked rib, but he has tallied  a 2.9 bWAR across 60 games. He currently leads the Dodgers in the category.

Trea Turner

Turner has accumulated 811k votes at shortstop right now, putting him at the top for the position in the NL. The fleetfooted Dodgers shortstop has put together a quietly good season, batting .301 and driving in 49 runs. Turner has also posted an .833 OPS and stolen 14 bases already.

So things are looking pretty good for the Dodgers right now. Having All-Star Game starters is always great for a team, but especially when your city is hosting.
