Dodgers News: Matt Kemp Hasn’t Heard From Brewers’ Ryan Braun

Sunday was a busy day for Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp as he said he doesn’t have any pain in his injured ankle and could be starting a minor league rehab assignment this week.

However, Kemp is also at the center of the Ryan Braun drama as Braun admitted earlier this week that he used PEDs for a nagging calf injury during his 2011 MVP campaign. Speaking to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times, Kemp said he hasn’t heard from Braun during the whole ordeal:

I don’t care about that. None of that has anything to do with me. I’m just trying to get back on the field and play.

Kemp lost the 2011 MVP award by just 54 points as he flirted with a Triple Crown season when he hit .324 with 39 home runs and 126 RBIs. His latest challenge is getting back on the field as he’s dealt with three significant injuries and he’s only played in 62 games this season.

Braun reportedly sought out Kemp and other MLB stars while he maintained his innocence last year after a urine collector, Dino Laurenzi Jr., in hopes they would come to his defense.

Throughout the whole process, Kemp has been on record as saying that he wouldn’t accept the 2011 MVP award if Braun offered it to him, but he has bigger issues at the moment.
