Dodgers News: Max Muncy Named Among Gold Glove Finalists at First Base
Unfortunately, the season didn’t end the way Max Muncy wanted it to. The slugger paced the Dodgers in home runs and runs batted in during the regular season but an elbow injury suffered in the final game ultimately ended his campaign and kept him out of the playoffs.
Still, the slugger put together an All-Star season with the bat and with the glove. With that in mind, the news dropped on Thursday that Muncy was named as one of the Rawlings Gold Glove finalists for his defense at first base.

This is his first such honor. Max joins Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman and St. Louis star Paul Goldschmidt, both of whom have three Gold Gloves between them.
Muncy committed just two errors in 820 chances at first in 2021. His 6 defensive runs saved was the best of his career.
2021 Gold Glove winners will be announced on Sunday, November 7th on ESPN.
