Dodgers News: Personalities on Display this Player’s Weekend

In case you missed it, this weekend is the first time the MLB is doing “Player’s Weekend”. Players from all different teams are letting loose by putting nicknames on their backs, wearing crazy colors, and having custom bats.

Even though Cody Bellinger is on the 10-day disabled list, he still made sure to join the fun! He has “CodyLove” on his back and some custom cleats for all of those Belli-Bombs that he has hit this year:

All of these efforts are made by the MLB to increase baseball fans engagement and allowing the players to express themselves however they wish. Some players don’t wish to at all keeping their name on their jersey, however, some have nicknames like “Chicken Strip” (Ross Stripling). All the excitement didn’t seem to distract the Dodgers’ from their winning ways. After a couple of home runs from Logie Bear and Wild Horse, the Dodgers topped the Brewers 3-1. The Brewers are slowly losing their season. They are 3 games back of the Cubs and 3.5 back of the wild card. They will need to get hot and climb the ladder and stay there. The Cubs have a tendency to get hot, and they can run away with the division at any moment.

In a completely opposite fashion, the Dodgers’ continue to lead baseball. They now have 91 wins and are 21 games up over the 2nd place D-Backs. Not only will the Dodgers’ have the best record in baseball, they will maintain home field advantage all playoffs long.
