Dodgers News: Ryan Pepiot Called Up, Andre Jackson Optioned

The Dodgers and Twins will finish up their 2-game series in Los Angeles tonight. Minnesota will send Sonny Gray to the mound facing off against Ryan Pepiot. Los Angeles had to make the move today to recall the rookie from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers also optioned Andre Jackson back to OKC. Jackson was called up to the team to provide some support this past week, but he did not get into a game for them. It’s the second time that he has been called up without throwing a single pitch.

Pepiot will be making his 5th start of the season for the Dodgers. Across 4 games, he has thrown 16.1 innings and allowed 5 earned runs, good for a 2.76 ERA. The walks are still pretty high, but he has shown an incredible ability to get out of tough situations too.

Other Dodgers News

The Dodgers and their fans have not loved Coors Field. It seems like anytime they visit the Mile High City, the wheels fall off and someone gets hurt. But that didn’t stop Tony Gonsolin from saying that it’s one of his favorite parks to visit. That’s pretty wild for a pitcher to say, given that the ball soars out of the stadium.

The Clayton Kershaw injury is a little unnerving for Dodgers fans. They’re hoping that it isn’t too serious this time around, but MLB experts are very much worried about what his short-term future might look like. If he were to miss significant time this season, it would be a really big problem for them.
