Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani Picks Mookie Betts as Player He Most Admires at All-Star Game

Dodgers fans, this is not a drill. At the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, Shohei Ohtani was asked which player most impresses him that he’s been around or seen in Seattle.

His answer was none other than Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts. Here was his reasoning:

“He’s so versatile,” Ohtani said. “He can play the outfield, play the middle infield. He’s very, very talented.”

First of all, for the most versatile player in MLB history to call you “so versatile” has to be some of the highest praise ever. But also, let’s just get straight to the most important point here: Shohei Ohtani, the guy who’s just months away from becoming the most coveted free agent in MLB history, admires Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts more than any of the other game’s top players at the All-Star festivities.

I don’t know about you, but that gives me goosebumps.

Ohtani could have picked anyone, and he chose the Dodgers’ superstar, who’s locked in to play in Los Angeles through 2032.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean anything in terms of his impending free agency, but it definitely will only further stir up rumors.

Many already consider the Dodgers to be the favorite to land Ohtani this offseason, and this will only pour fire on that already hot flame.

And just for fun, here’s another picture that will do the same:

Happy All-Star week!
