Time Warner Cable debuts their newest channel, SportsNet LA on February 25 and the official channel numbers have finally been announced.
SportsNet LA is the new Los Angeles Dodgers’ channel that’ll have around-the-clock programming about the team, as well as live coverage of every spring training and regular season game.
According to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, Time Warner Cable announced the channel numbers that fans can tune in beginning tomorrow:
SportsNet LA launches tomorrow: Channels 431 (HD) and 249 on Time Warner Cable, not available anywhere else. #Dodgers
— Bill Shaikin (@BillShaikin) February 24, 2014
Deals have still haven’t been made with any other cable distributors and Time Warner Cable remains the only provider that’ll have the channel for its’ debut. Negotiations have been ongoing with other cable providers such as DirecTV, Cox Communications and AT&T’s U-Verse. This will leave many fans without Dodgers coverage and would likely cause an increase in the demand of the channel that could speed up the process. Time Warner Cable has been prompting fans to demand the channel from their distributor by heading to ineedmydodgers.com or using the #ineedmydodgers on social media.
Cactus League games begin on Wednesday and it’ll only be available to see on SportsNetLA. Broadcaster Vin Scully will be on-hand for the channel launch and will be in the booth for the inaugural game on the channel. Programming for SportsNet LA has been announced and will include exclusive content from spring training thus far.
For the fans with Time Warner Cable, SportsNet LA will begin tomorrow night so make sure to tune in to channel 431.

ICYMI: Here’s where the Dodgers and Hanley Ramirez stand in extension talks
Will the channel have an app similar to the one the lakers channel has?
I have been a Dodger fan for 50 years, but I hate TWC. As a result, I’m being denied access to my team. I resent being FORCED to do business with a company I have absolutely NO INTEREST in ever subscribing to!!
Perhaps if no other carrier decides not to cave in to TWC demands ,TWC And the Dodgers will end up taking a bath on this so called monumental T.V. deal and end up going bankrupt !
What kind of a fan-based organization would block 2/3 of its fans from viewing games? One that doesn’t understand that fans (ordinary, hard-working people) aren’t going to hurry to switch to TWC -most likely because we’ve already been screwed by TWCs continued rate increases, and have switched to another cable company. Last year I went to my first Dodger game in 30 years because I was captivated by the games I watched on TV throughout the season. Without that motivation this year – guess I’ll tune into something else. SHAME ON YOU – DODGER ORGANIZATION!!!!!
