Dodgers News: Team Acquires Aroldis Chapman
The Dodgers have officially kicked off the Winter Meetings. Rumors swirled all around the team Sunday about their interest in Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman, and Monday morning, the trade has been agreed upon.
Chapman and Kenley Jansen become one of — if not the — best one-two punches in any bullpen should the team elect to keep both. Please, Dodgers, keep both.

Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal broke the news:
BREAKING: #Dodgers agree to acquire Chapman from #Reds for two prospects. Deal is pending review of medical records, sources say.

Initially, the news was great, but still slightly worrisome that the Dodgers might be giving up one of their major prospects. In swoops CBS’ Jon Heyman to let Dodgers fans exhale.
Chapman deal is agreed to with dodgers. 2 prospects to reds. (not seager, urias or deleon). Pending medicals

So there’s that! As of now, the trade looks like a slam dunk. In keeping the three top prospects in the organization, they have the future solidified if they prioritize that (which by all accounts they do), or can make a bigger trade using as many of those guys as needed.
For example, the team has been tied to Jose Fernandez, and it would probably take at least one of those names mentioned above.
Dodgers fans who have gotten used to having a phenomenal one-two punch in the starting rotation will now have to get used a slight shift. Games where the Dodgers have a lead into the 8th inning are now basically over, which is cool to say even now.
Finally, Rosenthal adds this about what the team plans to do with the two closers.
#Dodgers’ plan, at least right now, would be to keep both Chapman and Jansen. Build strength from back of bullpen with price of SP so high.

Good job, Dodgers!
