Dodgers News: Team Releases 2014 Slogan, “Live. Breathe. Blue.”

Dodgers SloganThe 2014 season is rapidly approaching and with individual tickets going on sale today as well as the second annual Fan Fest tomorrow, the Los Angeles Dodgers have released their new slogan.

Last season, the Dodgers used “A Whole New Blue” that signified the change in ownership and the shift into a new way of doing things in Los Angeles.

According to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, the 2014 campaign slogan has a bit of a different feel:

Los Angeles became infatuated with the team last season after they recovered from a 30-42 start to capture the National League West title that culminated in an NLCS berth. A 42-8 run led the way for the Dodgers and introduced a new superstar: Cuban outfielder Yasiel Puig. Dodger Stadium was once again packed with fans and the Dodgers once again led baseball in attendance. Even the players began to embrace their role as the darlings of Los Angeles, evidenced by Andre Ethier and Hanley Ramirez fighting through injuries to continue playing in the postseason.

Possibly inspired by their attitude and the electric atmosphere found at Dodger Stadium during the stretch run, the Dodgers picked a slogan to inspire the fans to support the Dodgers. The new saying is reminiscent of Tommy Lasorda’s saying that he bleeds Dodger Blue and gives fans a stronger relationship with the team. Season ticket sales were suspended due to high demand, showing that Dodger fans are ready for the upcoming season.
