Dodgers News: The Big Three Collect a Homerun Each

Saturday Night was one to remember when not one, not two, but three of the Dodgers’ superstars hit a home run each to seal the 4-2 win over the Giants.

With two outs in the third inning it was time for former Dodger, Alex Wood to face the dangerous top of the lineup once again. Mookie Betts, fresh off a go-ahead three run homer on Thursday night, stepped up to the plate. With a full 3-2 count, Betts slammed his 200th career homer into the left field stands.

Now up 1-0, Trea Turner took his spot in the box and homered off Wood’s 9th pitch of the at-bat. Back to back homers from the All-Star infielders to back up Urias‘ solid pitching so far.

Just a few innings later, Freddie Freeman, also an All-Star first baseman, knocked one more off the Giants in the bottom of the seventh  giving LA a 4-0 lead after a triple from Lux to help Bellinger score in the sixth.

This was the first game (ever) the 1-2-3 lineup of Betts, Turner, and Freeman hit homeruns in the same game which also boosted the Dodgers to a 63-30 record overall.

Freeman keeps his hitting streak of 11 games alive after tonight’s win and still leads the team with a .324 AVG and .402 OBP. Betts collected his 22nd homer of the season while Turner backs him up with 15 of his own.
