Dodgers News: Walker Beuhler And Others To Join Dodgers Roster

When the rosters expanded last Friday, the first wave of players to get the call for the Dodgers were Clayton Kershaw, Alex Verdugo, O’Koyea Dickson, Andre Ethier, Rob Segedin, Fabio Castillo, and Wilmer Font. Along with them, early Monday it was announced that Charlie Culberson would be joining the club and starting at shortstop. Well, another group of minor leaguers and familiar names are on the way.

On Monday Dave Roberts told the media that Joc Pederson, Trayce Thompson, Kyle Farmer, and Walker Buehler were on their way to the majors, though not all at once. Pederson and Thompson will join the team on Tuesday, Buehler on Wednesday, and Farmer once his option to triple-A is up.

Dave Roberts told the media that he will be using Buehler out of the bullpen, which is where he could secure a role come October. In the minors this season, Buehler spent his time in single-A, double-A, and triple-A, accumulating a 3.35 ERA with 125 strikeouts and 31 walks.

In triple-A, Walker Buehler had 13.1 innings out of the bullpen and had a 4.73 ERA.

As for Joc Pederson, on paper his performance in triple-A was fairly poor. Pederson hit just .143 and only had 1 home run over the course of 14 games. However, Dave Roberts seems confident that he has made improvements.

The month of September just got so much more exciting with all of these big names competing for a spot on the playoff roster. Do you think Walker Buehler and Joc Pederson will make the cut? Let us know in the comments below!
