Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig Had IV After Last Night For Dehydration

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig didn’t look too comfortable last night running out ground balls to first base in the 4-1 victory over the Marlins.

Puig went 0-5 and saw his batting average drop to .346, the lowest it’s been this season and there were concerns that he suffered either a leg or ankle injury.

However, Ken Gurnick of Dodgers.com spoke to Don Mattingly, who shed some light on the situation:

Puig’s first trip to Miami hasn’t gone as planned due to the fact he didn’t start Tuesday night’s game and was fined for showing up late. Since his family live in the area, Puig is staying at their house and was late to the ballpark, thus causing a media firestorm about all the negative things he’s done.

While he’s run into outs and overthrown cut off men, Puig hit the game-winning home run on the same day and the Dodgers wouldn’t be where they are without him.

With a quick turnaround this morning, Puig better make sure he’s hydrated so he can run at full speed as the Dodgers look to take three of four from the Marlins.
