Dodgers News: Yency Almonte Could Make His Return This Week
If we could take away one of the many things away from this season is that the pitching staff has been plummeted with injuries. Big arms have missed significant time and some will not be at 100 percent for the postseason (playoffs start in 17 days but who’s counting?).
However, today the Dodgers received some great news concerning one of their better relievers in the 2022 season.
Los Angeles announced that first year Dodger Yency Almonte could be back as early as Wednesday this upcoming week.
The plan for Yency Almonte is for him to pitch an inning in OKC on Sunday and if things go well he could be activated on Wednesday.

Dodgers beat writer Jack Harris also broke the good news.

The 28-year-old has been as solid as a rock this season for LA. In 29 games, Almonte has a 1.15 ERA, 30 strikeouts, 0.89 WHIP in 31.1 innings pitched.
It has been about a month and a half since the Florida native has pitched for the Dodgers. In his last appearance, he went 1 inning, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits and 0 walks in San Francisco back on August 3rd.
In his career, Almonte has a 4-4 record with a 4.46 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 143 strikeouts in 143 games and 155.1 innings pitched.
Almonte has been having his best year since his rookie year in Colorado and will look to continue this year’s success when he’s back.
Some bad news has struck our way down in Dodgertown, USA but this is certainly something to look forward to.
