The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped another game to the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. L.A. fell to 38-27 on the year.
Unfortunately, All-Star right-hander Tony Gonsolin was moved to the injured list with elbow discomfort. After seven starts, he posted an ERA of 5.00 across 36 innings.
Additionally, the Dodgers made a roster move and activated two key relievers off of the crowded injured list. Although they didn’t log any innings on Saturday, the pair of arms were with the team in Missouri and are ready to once again contribute to a bullpen in need.
In more pitching news, three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani had his regularly scheduled live batting practice pushed back. It appears that Ohtani will have to wait until the team heads to San Diego to continue his long-awaited pitching progression.
