Dodgers Notes: Blake Snell Signs, Walker Buehler and Jack Flaherty to Yankees or Padres?

The Los Angeles Dodgers set the baseball world on fire Tuesday night when they agreed to a massive contract with left-handed starting pitcher Blake Snell.

Snell was one of the top free agents on the market, and is now joining L.A. in a blockbuster move that will fortify the Dodgers rotation for years to come.

With Snell coming to L.A., the chances the Dodgers bring back either of Jack Flaherty or Walker Buehler are much smaller. The chances they bring back both are essentially zero.

With that being said, both pitchers are reportedly drawing interest from teams the Dodgers faced this postseason in the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees.

    1. That is a great idea! The question is “would he go for it?”. These guys get a lot of money. I would think that if you are a free agent; you would want to pursue whatever role the team you are talking to would offer. Buehler has that knuckle-curve. That would be a great tool for a closer.

    2. great thought, Dennis.
He sure came thru in that Game 6 9th inning. It don’t get more pressure packed than that. With all Walker been thru, I think he’s proven himself.
I hope FO is thinking about it for real.

    3. Why would Buehler want another ring with the Dodgers when he can get that next ring with the Padres!

  1. Why on earth would the Dodgers not sign WB to a one year contract? He’s an all time Dodgers hero. It’s not even big dollars.

    1. Must sign bueller. Wants to stay with Dodgers. Give him one year deal. Don’t forget pitchers Urias and Ryu took three years after surgery to get back to their full potential

      1. Right, finally was getting healthy from 2nd TJ surgery, came on much stronger later in the season, and was mostly solid in playoffs. Would really love to see them re-sign Walker.

        1. Agree. Saw a few games Walker pitched in the last couple months on MLB network. He had one game (not for sure but I THINK it was) against the Cubs where he was charged with 5 earned runs due to a couple of misplays. They should have been unearned; but weren’t. His ERA would have been below 3.00 for September.
