Dodgers Notes: Kiké Hernandez Announcement, LA Linked to Star Japanese Free Agent, James Outman Finally Gets Opportunity

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 6-0, on Saturday night to reclaim sole possession of first place in the NL West. LA improved to 70-53 on the year.

Additionally, the Dodgers are linked to a 25-year-old slugging third baseman from Japan. He has 230 home runs across eight seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball and a career OPS of .945.

In other news, Dodgers utility man and fan favorite Kiké Hernández has an exciting announcement. He has unfortunately been dealing with a left elbow sprain since early July, but the 33-year-old has undergone multiple procedures to try and get back onto the diamond before October.

Finally, former Dodgers outfielder James Outman was dealt to the Minnesota Twins at the trade deadline and has recently been called up from Triple-A. Saturday marked his season debut with his new squad as he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in a loss against the Detroit Tigers.
