Dodgers Notes: LA GM Talks Deadline Plans, New Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead Revealed, Walker Buehler to IL?

Have you come down from the Rocky Mountain High yet?

The Dodgers completed a remarkable seven-run ninth inning rally on Tuesday to beat the Colorado Rockies. The game was a struggle for starting pitcher Walker Buehler, however, and the Dodgers might concede that one turn through the rotation is not enough time to fix what ails him.

Catch up on these and all the headlines you might have missed Tuesday.

Walker Buehler’s Struggle and Possible Break

Walker Buehler’s challenging season might require some down time to recalibrate. After another rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and saw his ERA climb to 5.84, Buehler hinted at the possibility of taking a temporary break before his next start to reset. A potential stint on the injured list could provide necessary recovery time.

Dodgers’ Stunning Comeback Victory

In beating the Rockies 11-9, the Dodgers staged one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season. Trailing by five runs entering the ninth inning, the team rallied spectacularly. The key hits: a grand slam by Jason Heyward and a three-run homer by Teoscar Hernández.

New Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead

On Aug. 28, the Dodgers will be giving away a second Ohtani bobblehead when the team welcomes the Baltimore Orioles into Dodger Stadium — but this one doesn’t only feature Ohtani.

Dodgers GM On LA’s Trade Deadline Plans

General manager Brandon Gomes doesn’t appear to feel that the injuries to Mookie Betts and Yoshinobu Yamamoto warrant a re-evaluation of the Dodgers’ trade deadline strategy, perhaps because both players are anticipated to return by the end of the regular season.

Bobby Miller’s Anticipated Return

After a significant period on the injured list, Bobby Miller is set to make his return to the mound Wednesday. Having last pitched for the Dodgers in April, Miller’s comeback is keenly awaited as he looks to shake off previous struggles and solidify his spot in the rotation. His minor league rehab outings were like a second preseason, and hopefully set up Miller for a strong second half.
