Dodgers Notes: LA Makes Trade, Tommy Edman Setback, Freddie Freeman Wins Award
The Los Angeles Dodgers made a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, as they acquired an outfielder in exchange for cash considerations. The outfield has been a spot where the Dodgers have shown they can use more depth this season, especially with the recent Teoscar Hernández and Tommy Edman injuries.
Unfortunately for Edman, he’s going to need more time than expected to get back on the field. The utility man was in the middle of an extremely productive season before an ankle injury sidelined him, and most recently, he hasn’t responded well to his treatment.
In better news, Freddie Freeman was honored by MLB with an award for his elevated play. It was his 10th such honor in his career, and first since the Summer of 2023.
