The Los Angeles Dodgers signed a veteran pitcher on Monday that last pitched for LA in 2022. The 34-year-old southpaw was inked on a minor league deal, and would be eligible to play on the postseason roster if the opportunity arose.
In other news, the month of September also comes with expanded MLB rosters and the Dodgers took full advantage, activating a pair of key players on Monday. Assistance to both the pitching roster and the heart of the lineup were added as the final stretch of the regular season is finally upon us.
Finally, left fielder Michael Conforto is at risk of losing playing time according to what manager Dave Roberts recently said about the margin for error with his team. Conforto is batting a forgettable .190 this season and is posting a negative WAR for the first time in his decade-long career.
