The Los Angeles Dodgers won their 12th NL West title in the last 13 years after they walloped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-0, on Thursday afternoon. Yoshinobu Yamamoto tossed six scoreless innings and got to 201 strikeouts in 2025, Andy Pages and Shohei Ohtani homered, and Freddie Freeman had two long balls of his own as LA improved to 90-69 on the year.
The celebration for the division title, however, had almost as many highlights as the game itself did. Future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, in what was his final division title celebration, delivered some incredibly comedic lines among other jubilant sights in the clubhouse as the Dodgers look toward hosting the NL Wild Card series next week.
In other news, a key reliever is now ‘unlikely’ to return ahead of the postseason. Manager Dave Roberts wants to be mindful of the right-hander’s health to hopefully salvage some October innings for a bullpen in need.
