The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, on Wednesday thanks to a clutch two-out Freddie Freeman walk-off liner to drive in two runs. LA improved to 60-43 on the year as Tyler Glasnow tossed 12 strikeouts, one earned run, and one walk in seven innings of work, and Shohei Ohtani hit a home run for the fifth consecutive game, joining a list of just six Dodgers to do so in franchise history.
Unfortunately, Mookie Betts is at risk of missing the Dodgers’ next game, a series opener with the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Manager Dave Roberts said that ‘everything is okay’ with his shortstop, but there appears to be a personal matter Betts must address.
Additionally, the Dodgers are reportedly targeting a reliever at the trade deadline. There are five teams that LA is in contact with to address a glaring need in the bullpen ahead of July 31.
