The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3, on Monday night to take a 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series. Los Angeles is now just one win away from an NL Championship Sereies berth and will play Game 3 (and 4, if necessary) at Dodger Stadium.
Things got a little dicey in the ninth inning as a four-run lead going into the eighth turned into a one-run lead with nobody out in the ninth. Blake Treinen came in attempt to close out the game, but failed to record an out, allowing two runs on 12 pitches.
Alex Vesia then relieved him and recorded two outs, setting the stage for 23-year-old Roki Sasaki to get the final out and earn the second save of his young career with the tying run stranded 90 feet away.
Manager Dave Roberts was asked why Treinen played the ninth inning, even after Sasaki was seen warming up in the seventh inning. Although the Dodgers escaped Game 2 with the win, the reliever’s 9.64 ERA in the final month of the regular season contributed to many questions being raised.

Dave Roberts is an IDIOT. Treinen should even be in the post season roster. Why he keeps putting him in is a disgrace. You saw he regular season stats. He STINKS… With all the relievers he has he had to use him how many time in the post season. Roberts needs to get FIRED!!!
Treinen had his worst month of the regular season right before the playoffs. A 9.64 ERA through 12 appearances. The bullpen has such a small circle of trust, but there was no reason to try and test it during the ninth inning of and NLDS game
