Dodgers Notes: Yoshinobu Yamamoto ‘Hip Issue’, Shohei Ohtani Pitching Timeline, Max Muncy’s Defensive Struggles

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Cleveland Guardians, 7-4, on Wednesday in a game that the Dodgers led 4-1 entering the bottom of the seventh inning. L.A. fell to 34-22.

In more bad news, manager Dave Roberts revealed that Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto has a ‘hip issue’ suffered after his most recent Monday start. The pitcher made an athletic play to field a bunt that may have resulted in being pulled after 88 pitches.

Additionally, Roberts also provided a rough timeline on when three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani will be making his pitching debut with the Dodgers. Ohtani recently began facing live hitters for the first time in about two calendar years in his ‘methodical’ process back to the hill.

Finally, Roberts and Max Muncy opened up on his defensive struggles. The third baseman is tied for the most errors in MLB this season with nine.
