Dodgers Officially Call Up Top-Pitching Prospect
The Dodgers have officially called up left-hander Justin Wrobleski. He is expected to start today for Los Angeles against the Milwaukee Brewers. The team also optioned right-hander Gus Varland as well.
There had been speculation about Los Angeles calling up Wrobleski over the last few days but now it’s official. The team has wanted to give some of their arms more rest given all the injuries to the starting rotation this season.
Wrobleski has been making waves in the minor leagues recently, splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A. He has posted an ERA of 3.23 and is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the system.
The left-hander has struck out 79 batters over 78 innings of work so far in the minor leagues. The Dodgers are very intrigued with his potential and are giving him a chance to show what he can do.
With all the injuries to the rotation, if Wrobleski can perform well, he may be able to stay for a while. He will be given a challenge for his first big league start, facing a first-place team in the Brewers.

Top prospect? Prospect, maybe, he looks like he has some good stuff. But he’s not ready for the bigs yet.
WROBOLESKI A TOP PITCHING PROSPECT? REALLY? LONG LONG LONG WAY FROM PAUL SKENES! A. HE’S NOT NEAR READY. B. HIS STUFF IS OK-NOT GREAT…YET. C. NOT AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT PITCHER WITH A SURE UPSIDE. WARNING: THE DODGERS BETTER TRADE TO GET A TOP NOTCH HEALTHY PITCHER OR TWO, NOT YOUNG PROSPECTS, TO PITCH IN THE POST SEASON OR THEYLL FLAME OUT AGAIN JUST LIKE LAST, & OTHER SEASONS! THIS TEAM IS NOT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALITY AT THIS TIME BECAUSE OF INJURIES, & THEIR STARTING PITCHERS ARE MOSTLY SUSPECT AS WELL, & ALSO INJURED. PADRES & D-BACKS ARE STILL IN IT & HAVE PITCHING TO SUSTAIN A MOVE V DODGERS IN THE 2ND HALF. KIKE TAYLOR MUNCY BIGGIO ON THE RELEASE OR TRADE BLOCK.
Wow, Are you ever happy about anything the Dodgers do? I’m sure the Padres or DBs would love to have you as a fan.
So ya know, the Dodgers will either make it to the series or they won’t. Us true long time fans will be disappointed if they don’t but we’ll still love those guys!
