Dodgers, Padres Delayed as Jurickson Profar Has Ball Thrown at Him From Stands
The Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres NLDS Game 2 has been delayed as someone from the stands threw a baseball near outfielder Jurickson Profar.
Profar was understandably heated, and the Padres players and manager Mike Shildt met with umpires and security to discuss the situation. Fans continued to throw stuff on the field, causing a lengthy delay.

The Dodgers’ PA announcer had to announce multiple times that fans would be subject to ejection if they continued to throw stuff on the field. Here’s a video of the interactions:
Dodger Stadium security lined up around the field to ensure no fans ran on the field. It appeared fans continued to throw things in right field, where Fernando Tatis Jr. was standing.
After a more than 10 minute delay following the final out of the top of the seventh inning, the Dodgers and Padres resumed play.
Tensions have been high all game, dating back to the bottom of the first inning when Profar robbed Mookie Betts of a home run and taunted right in front of the Dodger Stadium fans in left field.

Later in the game, Tatis also got into it with fans, who could be heard chanting, “F— Tatis.”
Finally, Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty and Padres infielder Manny Machado got into multiple verbal altercations.
The game was able to continue in the bottom of the seventh inning. Hopefully, there are no more delays for the remainder of the game.

OK, no reason, no excuse to throw things at players. None. None at all. But Profar was just acting like a 5 year old. Someone, in a crowd of 56K, was a jerk. Again, no excuse for it. But Profar just had an absolute tantrum. C’mon, act like an adult, call the ump over, ask for the thrower to be ID’d, I mean there’s a ton of cameras there, and be escorted out. Maybe ask for an announcement that says it’s not ok to do that. But maybe a tantrum is more satisfying.
