The Los Angeles Dodgers placed utility man Tommy Edman on the injured list with right ankle inflammation. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers called up infielder Hyeseong Kim.

The roster move comes as no surprise, given it was reported earlier that Kim was en route to Atlanta to join the team. However, Edman’s IL stint does come as shock.
Ahead of Friday’s series opener with the Braves, Edman said his ankle was feeling “much better” than previous days. The 29-year-old injured his ankle on a slide during Tuesday’s win over the Marlins.

Edman was not in Friday’s lineup, but went through a full workout. However, it appears the injury was more serious than previously speculated as Edman heads to the IL.
While Edman’s time away is not ideal, his departure opens the door for Kim to get an opportunity in the big leagues.
Kim signed a three-year, $12.5 million deal with the Dodgers this offseason. He joined the defending champions with some hardware of his own as he is a four-time Gold Glove winner from the KBO.
Kim’s defense is elite, but his bat became the issue this spring. The infielder struggled to adjust to Major League velocity and the issues at the plate are what prevented him from making the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster.
Nevertheless, Kim revamped his swing and began the season in Triple-A hitting .257 with an .801 OPS. His strong start with Oklahoma City propelled Kim to the majors.

Okay, now the proof on Kim will be in the :Pudding.” Hurry back Tommy Tanks…
I hope Kim does well and stays on. If he can be as good as JH Lee of the Giants would be great. Time to move on from underperforming Conforto and “ frustrating to watch “ CT3 would make the bench reserves much better.
