Dodgers: Playing on the Infield ‘a Lot of Fun’ for Mookie Betts
It’s hard to think of a better person for baseball than Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts. Although Betts is an outfielder than Betts, it would be hard to think of a reason why he isn’t able to play other positions.
Although it’s hard to find a reason, you don’t have to look very far to find out Betts actually is used to playing in the infield. It was expected early on that he would find more time in the infield, but Betts told the media recently of how he really feels with playing in the infield.
“Being able to play second base is kind of something I’ve been doing my whole life. Getting to go back there’s just a lot of fun for me personally. I really, really do enjoy it, but they pay me to catch these fly balls.”
Indeed the Dodgers pay Betts to catch fly balls and indeed is he one of the best in the game to do it. However, if Betts spent more time in the infield, we wouldn’t get plays like this.

Maybe Betts is doing other teams a favor playing in the outfield because the more he plays, the sooner teams will learn to not run on Mookie.
